A 7 week unit including planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y1 - Y5. Unit of work includes: I can identify some of the different responsibilities in the home and categories which I can do and should do. I can explore the important of taking responsibility for my health and wellbeing. I can investigate how to take responsibility for my appearance. I can explain the importance of keeping our homes clean and tidy. I can explore the importance of taking responsibility for recycling. I can investigate the importance of budgeting within the household. I can investigate budgeting for food. Each lesson starts with a practical/verbal task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.

Unit of work includes: To understand the term ‘drug’, in terms of legal and illegal. To gain an understanding of what is classed as smoking and meant by alcohol. To understand what is factual in terms of legal and illegal substances. To gain knowledge around the affects illegal substances have on the body. To understand the reasons behind age restrictions and how to resist peer pressure. Each lesson starts with a practical/verbal task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.

Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y1 - Y5. Unit of work includes: To identify what independence is, how and why I can/should be independent in some areas of my life/learning. To explore and identify ways to be independent and safe on and around roads. To identify and demonstrate how to behave appropriately outside of the school environment individually or with friends. To explore different methods of transport and how to behave appropriately on these. To explore and identify how to independently purchase an item from a shop. To reflect on the Topic and to demonstrate independence and maturity outside of the school environment. Each lesson starts with a practical/verbal task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.
